Director & Coordinator of Youth Services, ARISE

Job Description: Education and advocacy for various youth services, parent group coordinator, after school program coordinator.
Education: Bachelor's in psychology/sociology, SUNY Oswego. Pursuing master's in social work, Syracuse University.
Civic Leadership: Board of directors, Oswego County humane Society; member NAFE; board of directors, Oswego Little League; board member of Family Support Services Council.

Why did you get involved with the humane society?
"I love animals and when my cat ran away a few years ago I created a Web site. I then hooked up with the society. I'm a big fan of networking. Now I chair the education committee and I go to schools and teach kids how to take care of pets."
Why did you involve yourself in Little League?
"My kids are playing it and I'm a grant writer. Little league wanted a grant and I helped them write that in conjunction with ARISE ."
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
"I actually still see myself teaching because I love doing that. I see myself doing a lot of counseling. One of the reasons I'm working on my counseling degree is to make the programs here absolutely phenomenal because they are very much needed."
